WHATS BREWN
Lets see there is so much to talk about! First of all is the new meeting format, and based on your response I think we found the correct solution. Next is the location of our meetings. Again the positive response of the club, and the gracious offer from the owners of the Home Brewers Outlet, means we have found a proper meeting forum. For those of you that were not in attendance let me explain what Im talking about. The new meeting format is educational presentation, followed by announcements and setting the agenda for the next business meeting. This should take about thirty minutes! The business will be taken care of at the business meeting, and anyone who wants to participate is welcome to attend. Thats why we announce the agenda. The new meeting location is the Home Brewers Outlet! They are still held on the second Thursday of the month at eight oclock. For the business meetings we will be visiting several of the areas beer emporiums, on a published rotation.
The last piece of big news is that the club has decreed to brew all our own beer for parties and special events. Now dont get me wrong we will gladly take any donations of beer we can get, but we wont buy any more beer. The beer will be brewed at the HBO by a variety of brewers and used as an opportunity for teaching. After all we are a brewing club not a drinking club.
Now lets talk about the Christmas party. This years event is scheduled for the 12th at six thirty, and will be hosted by Bill and Betty. You will find a map complete with directions in this newsletter. Please feel free to bring home brew or your favorite dish, do not forget the sweets. We would like to ask you to bring one new unwrapped toy, for the Toys for Tots program. I look forward to seeing you there.
The next item on my list is a new event for us; its a Sportsmans Feast to be held at the park on Super Bowl Sunday. Yes there will be several TVs along with a complete feast of game. This would be our first event to make beer for! More details to come!
Also on January the 23rd, there is a homebrew competition sponsored by the Florida Brewers Guild. The event is to be held in Key West, and will coincide with their craft beer show, could be fun. Yours truly has been asked to be the head judge for this event, and I foolishly accepted. I need judges for this event so if you want to go to the beer show for free, come to the Keys and judge some beer.
Last but not least, we decided on an Irish theme for the Blow Off awards ceremony and banquet. Dont forget to bring in your suggestions for a location to hold our event. The time draws near! Make more beer!

Note Form The Editor
Its Holiday time once again and there is plenty to due and plenty to brew. This newsletter includes some special dates for our Christmas Party (next Saturday the 12th) and New Years Eve party, as well as the expected meeting and brewing dates for the next 6 months. I was told that the On-line Brew News from BEERweek was enjoyed in the past newsletter, so I have included some more interesting stories from the past month. December looks like it will be a busy month and we have a busy New Year coming with all the Competitions, Brew Sessions, Meetings, Etc., so start preparing your calendar now. Continue brewing your competition beers for next year; We want to put all the other Florida Brewing Clubs to shame.
